He did his best! It's not his fault that real magic isn't exactly common in my world. Most people don't even believe in it. Even fairy tales and legends varied so much to the point where we didn't know what would work and what wouldn't. He was certainly there when I needed him, as was my mother.
Maybe it's my fault for not making it a bit clearer. But the last thing either of my parents did was flat-out ignore us in any way.
