My Spiritomb sometimes tries to pull some pranks on my other Pokemon, but Alice usually spots them before they can go too far.

My Ditto, on the other hand, had to be trained out of latching onto faces while people sleep. There's pranks and then there's murder attempts.

It absolutely can. Technically, it's not actually turning into anything, it's just making an illusion, but as long as no one touches it, it's very convincing.
