[Hahaha. A period where she didn't have a lot of friends. Yup.]
mostly i watched movies or made music and stuff but with the lotr trilogy in particular i was like ok im clearly missing a lot of material here and also im not actually even getting everyones names? so i obtained myself the dead tree format and somehow got through
wow you should see my face just the thought of that's making me smile no one even forced you! I had to bother and pester my best friend to read them and even then he kind of slogged his way through I mean he did watch the extended editions with me which is tbf the ONLY way to get the full experience but choosing to read the books on your own did you end up reading The Hobbit too? or watching those movies? the changes they made to that one were extreme but I really liked them especially since it added a romance subplot AND another badass lady elf
of course not that thing's blasphemous I'm talking about the second trilogy!! it was just one book but they stretched it out to make three movies which was a weird idea but it gave me more middle earth so I'm not REALLY complaining An Unexpected Journey The Desolation of Smaug The Battle of the Five Armies
Following Bilbo Baggins' adventure with the dwarves :)
oh ok that explains it damn were they any good id look for them here but theyd be the pokemon versions and im not sure im ready for that to be my first exposure to a movie
oh I thought since you mentioned how old you are that you would have been around for at least a few of them they were good either way at least I think so kind of milking the franchise? but like I said I got more middle earth so I'm satisfied
um yeah i havent uh generally seen or read anything thats come out recently im good up through the first decade of the millennium but from 2010 on im playing catch up
you weren't able to for the last few years? THAT sounds horrible and like a story but I don't want to ask if it'd make you uncomfortable (since you've been distracting me from a lot of unpleasant things and all that)
its just a really long story and nows probably not the best time to get into it for now you can think of me as a participant in a really extreme study abroad experience except without the studying so much
oh ive heard of that one the premise always sounded more roses thing than mine so i never picked it up that and webcomics were more my scene anyway its all like magic and elder gods and occult shit right
I haven't read a lot of webcomics not consistently anyway mostly just little vignettes but yes it is though beings called the endless who are the personification of things like dreams and death and desire I should not have read it as young as I did because it is very fucked up :)
I thiiink I was eleven?? you know when you recognize an author and just think yeah this won't be scarring and then it's kind of entirely scarring?? ehhhh it got less disturbing as it went on
more like you know that saying about not looking away from a trainwreck? except not that it was bad writing-wise just that that's kind of what it felt like an actual trainwreck with all the carnage that kind of thing
oh yeah fuck theres a word for that what was it the human fascination with death thanatopsis or something what youre describing doesnt have to do necessarily with death i guess but that pull probably goes along with general disaster too
